I look forward to the Image Awards, each year. Since attending my very first show (1997) at the Pasadena Civic Auditorium to later serving on the NAACP's National Board of Directors, I had the pleasure of supporting the show in many different area.

Sadly, this will be our first year without Willis Edwards, who earlier this year succumbed to complications of HIV/AIDS. I look forward to what the Beverly Hills Hollywood Branch, and National Office have planned to honor his memory during the show.

Tune in, and watch the show LIVE on NBC - Friday, February 1 (8 ET live/PT tape-delayed).
